HISTORY
The founders of Balbriggan Golf Club in 1945 were a group of local golf enthusiasts who wanted to establish a community-focused club. While specific individual names are not widely mentioned in historical records, the vision of these founders was to create a welcoming environment for local players. The club has since grown to be one of the premier parkland golf courses in Leinster, thanks to both its founders' efforts and the ongoing dedication of its members.
Balbriggan Golf Club has been a cherished part of the local community for nearly eight decades. Initially established as a modest parkland course, the club has evolved to become one of Leinster’s premier golfing destinations. Located just 15 minutes from Dublin Airport and situated close to the M1 motorway, the club offers convenience and accessibility, attracting both local players and visitors. The course itself underwent a significant redevelopment in 2009, with the redesign overseen by renowned course architect Eddie Connaughton. The upgraded layout now boasts USGA-standard sand-based greens and tee boxes, setting it apart as a modern and challenging venue.
